Henderson Park was named in honor of DeVaul “Dee” Henderson, a long time Richmond Hill resident and local leader who passed away in 1998.
DeVaul Henderson was born in Savannah in 1944, graduated with a law degree from the University of Georgia, and moved to Richmond Hill where he contributed to the community’s growth. Henderson served as a Bryan County attorney for a long time before his death in 1998. His wife, Michele Henderson Roberts, is also a lawyer who still practices in the community.
